Meet Richie
A Hawaii broker who tells you the straight story
I'm Richie Taylor, an independent mortgage broker with Kamaʻāina Mortgage Group in Honolulu. I shop your loan across more than 65 wholesale lenders and banks, and I'll tell you when a deal doesn't make sense, even if that means no loan.
My story
From job sites to loan files
I didn't start in an office. I ran a painting business, then installed and sold solar, eventually managing a sales team. That work taught me to show up, explain things plainly, and finish what I start.
I moved into mortgages at Wells Fargo, then went to the broker side so I could work for borrowers instead of one bank's rate sheet. As a broker I can compare wholesale lenders and banks for each client, which matters most on the files banks decline.
